Feeling Thrifty

It is so raining. Which I like because it's cosy and we bought coffee.

Highlights of Hackney Wick Flea Market:

1) Risotto Balls. Imagine a risotto of mushrooms, herbs and goats cheese, moulded into a ball, rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried. We had a few of those with a tabbouleh type salad. I want them back in my life.

2) Beer and bread. The same stall that sold the risotto balls also knocked out a can of Holsten with a cup of rye bread sticks fried in oil and rubbed with garlic for £2.

Keep it on the DL but I think I could do this. A cake stall of my own selling cup cakes and bloody marys. It's only £5 to set up a stall here so no pressure.

3) My new Hawaiian bloomers. These don't entirely fit. I was hoping they would be a bit billowy and culotte like but they are more like tight holiday shorts. The more I wear them round the house though the more I like them.

4) I also got some red sari fabric for £5 to souk up my bedroom area. This is an epic project and requires a post of it's own.

Good vibes all round. Afters we went to the Hackney Pearl for bloody marys and carrot cake with our pals Luke and Natalie. Natalie is running a stall in Brick Lane tomorrow so I'm looking forward to browsing her wares.

Kirsty shows off our selection of clashing fabrics in the Hackney Pearl.

Tonight? It's only bank holiday Saturday. No big deal. Just going to cook some soup, have a few beers with my roomie and maybe swing by an electro rave later. Will let you know how we get on.

Oh yeah, peep my shorts.
