It's September again...

Where has this year gone? Five minutes ago it was the new year, then Spring sprung and now here we are. If the weather forecast can be believed then we're set to have something of an Indian Summer here. I'll be honest with you my thoughts have already turned to woollen socks, butternut squashes, blankets and ankle boots. In fact I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sitting on the sofa right now drinking a mug of hot cocoa and eating a mini Green & Blacks bar of chocolate (Maya Gold) with the West Wing on in the background.

I absolutely love this time of year and am eagerly anticipating the first frosty morning and the smell of bonfire in the air. Still I don't want to wish the summer away - especially as I haven't had time to make any jam or plum chutney yet and I've definitely not eaten enough peaches, raspberries or watermelon. I'm going to make the most of the light mornings, while we have them and get up early - seize the night a little less and seize the day a little more. Make sure the larder (ok cupboard) is well stocked and all is safely gathered in before winter comes.
