Christmas Hamper Project # 4: Chocolate Dipped Peel

Now is the perfect time to make this quick, easy and delicious sweetmeat! This is the third time I've delved into the big batch of Candied Peel I made back in November (the first time was for my Christmas cake and the second was for my home made mincemeat!).

Here's a quick and simple step by step!

Step 1 - Take one bar of delicious Green & Blacks organic dark chocolate (or any dark chocolate of your choosing, but make sure it's a good one!).

Step 2 - Eat two of the squares immediately - this will give you the energy to complete the rest of the steps...

Step 3 - Melt the chocolate in a bowl resting over a pan of water on a low simmer.

Step 4 - Pick out some nice juicy looking bits of peel. Orange, lemon, pink grapefruit, lime - mix it up!

Step 5 - Slice the peel up into thin little strips.

Step 6 - Dip the pieces of peel in the chocolate one at a time. I used BBQ tongs to pick them out again and let them drip for a moment or two before placing them on baking parchment to set.

Step 7 - Once the chocolate has set, pop the pieces of peel in a little cellophane bag and tie up with a piece of string, easy peasy!
