Lemon Drizzle Fo Shizzle

I made this delicious poppyseed and lemon drizzle cake for my lovely friend Sarah's Birthday last weekend! We went round for Sunday lunch and sang Happy Birthday with candles and stuffed ourselves with cake and salted caramel profiteroles (pictured) made by Sarah's sweet friend Kim! I was really pleased to have the opportunity to use my moulded glass cake stand that I picked up in my New Forest charity shop haul back in the Summer!

I used Jamie Oliver's lemon drizzle cake recipe and I highly reccomend giving it a go! The recipe uses ground almonds as well as white flour so has a lovely dense texture and before you get to the drizzling part, you pour over a lemon syrup which the warm just soaks up like a sponge! It's really tasty.

Happy Monday you guys, I hope you have a dreamy and productive week!

    1. Thank you Rachael! :D It's an awesome recipe and a lovely cake to have on hand at this time of year - when its drizzling outside you might as well be drizzling inside eh?

  2. Totally going to make that. If only I could find the cake stand as well!

    1. It's a beauty isn't it? The pretty edge is perfect for catching any lemon drizzle overspill! Not bad for £3.99!
