Chloë Bakes Cakes - Featured in Celebrating Everyday Life Magazine!

Now that the festive season is in full swing and Christmas is nearly upon us, I’m delighted to share with you a wonderful magazine, Celebrating Every Day Life by Jennifer Carroll!

Celebrating Everyday Life is available both in print and as a download from Every page of the magazine is crammed full of Pinterest perfect, beautifully styled images and include book reviews, recipes, ideas for home made gifts, interior decor inspiration as well as plenty craft and DIY projects to try!

Way back in the Summer I was commissioned by Selina Lake (fabulous stylist and author of bestseller Pretty Pastel Style) to bake some cakes for the ‘Christmas Party Hop’ shoot on pages 90 – 93 & 96. I baked 12 of my ever popular double chocolate cupcakes and iced half with delicious dark chocolate ganache and the other half with fluffy white vanilla buttercream. I topped the cupcakes with chopped pistachios, pecans and dessicated coconut for a rustic, wintery feel. I also baked a single tier double chocolate cake, iced with vanilla buttercream. Selina topped this cake with gorgeous gold Christmas tree decorations – I think this would make a handsome centrepiece for any Christmas party table! Don't the cakes look great against Selina’s pink and gold theme?

Also in the November / December 2013 issue are some wonderful DIY gift wrapping ideas (think paper bows, gold glitter and velvet ribbon), a breathtakingly beautiful gingerbread house, vintage tea cups, a fabulous recipe for a cranberry and pomegranate cocktail and (my personal favourite) mini chocolate and orange bundt cakes!

Don’t they look absolutely mouthwatering? I love the contrast of the warm, orange flavoured sponge swirled in with chocolate - I can't wait to give them a try and have been eyeing up this gorgeous Nordic Ware mini bundt pan for just that purpose!

The magazine is perfect for curling up with on a cold and windy afternoon and is full of inspiration for Christmas decorations, table settings and party ideas which will come in very handy if (like me) you’re not quite Christmas Day ready yet. I especially love Jennifer’s idea for a festive simmer – a stovetop concoction of apples, cinnamon and orange wheels that will have your whole house smelling beautiful in no time and is the perfect last minute home made gift to offer your host at the next Christmas party!
