A recipe for chocolate Easter nests....

Hello! I hope you're enjoying the long weekend so far? I'm just popping by this morning to share this quick and easy recipe for chocolate Shredded Wheat Easter nests! It's an oldie but it's a goodie. You can whip them up in under an hour and they look pretty spread out on a fancy cake stand!

Equipment:

A muffin tray + 8 paper muffin cases.

Ingredients:

200g milk chocolate (I like Green & Blacks)
1 tbsp Golden Syrup
50g butter
4 x regular sized Shredded Wheats
A bag of mini eggs

Step 1: Break the chocolate up into cubes and place it in a bowl over a pan of very gently simmering water. Lave it to melt then remove from the heat.

Step 2: Add the Golden Syrup and butter and stir gently while the butter melts.

Step 3: In a large mixing bowl crumble up the Shredded Wheat with your fingers. Pour over the chocolate mixture and stir thoroughly to combine.

Step 4: Using two teaspoons carefully spoon the mixture into your prepared muffin cases and press into a nest shape. You want to press it all down fairly firmly to make sure the nests will hold their shape!

Step 5: Finish with three little mini eggs per nest and leave to set for a couple of hours (you can pop them in the fridge to speed the process up!).

Don't they look adorable? Toby certainly thinks so!

Have a great weekend and Happy Easter!
